Many exciting initiatives are underway in the RSD to bolster student achievement. This year, we district extended the school day to provide students will have more instructional time on task. We also introduced a managed curriculum aligned to state grade level standards and introduced the concept of Small Learning Community in our direct-operated elementary schools. Our high schools have begun the transformation to career-focused academies.
The RSD uses data-driven decision-making based on regular benchmark testing and Response to Intervention (RTI) to ensure the educational success of all students. The district also is providing expanded professional development opportunities to enhance the knowledge and skills of our school-based staff.
