Launching the
RSD HIGH SCHOOL CAREER INTERNSHIP PROGRAM
The RSD High School Career Internship Program is gearing up to begin placing eligible students in career internships. The application process will begin on October 28, 2009 at six high schools. Students will contact their school counselors to check whether they are eligible. To be eligible, students:
Must be in 11th or 12th grade
Must have an Early Release schedule to work from 11:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m., Monday thru Thursday
Must have good attendance
Must attend (2) Saturday Job Readiness Trainings
Students will earn $9.00 an hour for 12 hours of work weekly. The Winter and Spring High School Internship Program will last 10 weeks in the fall and 9 weeks in the Spring. The first day of work for the Winter Internship is November 16, 2009. The Internship Program Schedule below outlines important dates for each term.
