Resource Centers

 

Have a question about public schools in New Orleans or need to enroll your child in school? Visit an RSD Parent-Family Resource Center, now at four  locations around the city. Our staff will walk you through the enrollment process, help with student record requests and provide up-to-date school information.

The following locations are open weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.:

      • Sarah T. Reed High School, 5316 Michoud Blvd.
      • L.B. Landry High School, 1200 L.B. Landry Ave.
      • Walter L. Cohen High School, 3520 Dryades St.
      • George W. Carver Elementary School, 3059 Higgins Blvd. (Enter at Almonaster)

      Each center will provide the following services:

      • Student enrollment information
      • Transcript and records requests
      • Conflict resolution
      • Up-to-date school information
      • Parenting skills literature
      • Community resource literature

      More locations and services, such as centralized enrollment and transportation systems, will be added in coming months.

    Resources for Parents and Families

    Managed Curriculum – See what our students are learning this year! View the RSD’s complete curriculum from Pre-Kindergarten to 12th grade.

    NOLA Parents Guide to Public Schools – Learn about your public school options in New Orleans. Includes information about all available public schools, application timelines and school performance data.

    Save Our Schools NOLA – Provides helpful tools, analysis and guidance intended to increase the ability of parents and residents to understand current education issues and act effectively on the information.

    Louisiana PASS (online tutorials) – Web site developed by the Louisiana Department of Education contains programs that Louisiana students can use to improve basic skills, learn new skills and take practice tests.

    Early Steps – Louisiana’s Early Intervention System provides services to families with infants and toddlers (birth to 36 months) who have developmental delays or medical conditions that will likely lead to developmental delays.
