Troy Simon's video places in Top 10 among more than 600 entries. Visit http://www.ed.gov/iamwhatilearn/index.html to view the video and cast your vote!

A student at Greater Gentilly High School in New Orleans, Troy Simon, recently produced a video for President Obama's nationwide "I Am What I Learn" education contest. There were very strict guidelines for the video, and he spent many hours after school learning the computer editing programs and compiling all of the media. He has truly turned his life around with hard work and commitment, and now acts as the president of our Principal's Advisory Committee, which I help run.

At the beginning of the week, the Department of Education notified the school to say that Troy's video was chosen as one of the Top 10 in the country, out of nearly 600 submissions!

Please take a few minutes of your time to check it out online, and to vote for Troy's video. The top 3 winners receive a $1000 scholarship.

It is titled "I Am What I Learn - Troy" (the one with the streetcar) on the following website:

All you have to do to vote is click on the green thumbs up after you open his video.
