Fleur-de-lis

The Talented Music Program offers students a comprehensive cross-curricular approach to music education. Students enrolled in this program receive personalized instruction in vocal or instrumental music, as fundamental training in the full range of music theory and literacy.  The music faculty includes certified music teachers as well as working musicians. Students will have the opportunity to explore music history, composing, songwriting, musical aesthetics and many other aspects of their field.  The goal is to inspire imaginative creativity, to strengthen musical abilities and to foster a greater appreciation of the diversity of life through music.

Expectations for Music:

  • All students are expected to practice daily to review the lessons learned in class and any outside music material they might be working on.  Remember, “practice makes permanent.”
  • All students, regardless of background or previous training, will be expected to learn the basics of music theory and note reading to the best of their ability.
  • Every music student is responsible for keeping track of books, loose papers (hand outs) notebooks, and any other item required for class, and must remember to bring what they need each instructional day.
  • If any student is issued an instrument to take home to practice, a separate contract will be signed by student and guardian to ensure responsibility for the instrument.
